Privacy policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026.
Kalmo TV is a media player for Google TV and Android TV. It plays the sources you add yourself: your Jellyfin or Plex servers, your playlists, and the official channels of its catalog. Kalmo TV provides no content.
This policy explains what data goes through the app and this website, where it goes, and what we do not do with it. In short: your sources and logins stay on your TV, or in your own Google Drive, encrypted with your password. Our servers cannot read them.
Who we are
Kalmo TV is published by Gaspard Delvaux, sole trader under the name STALL Studio, Rue Bois du Corbeau 49, 6220 Lambusart, Belgium, company number 1030.079.523. He is the data controller. Contact: [email protected].
What stays on your TV
The addresses of your sources, your logins, your favorites, where you left off, your channel groups, your profiles, your reminders and your settings are stored only in the app’s private storage on your TV. Your recordings (Kalmo Casa) also stay on your TV, in the app’s folder. None of this is ever sent to us. Android’s system backup is turned off for the app, so that this data does not go anywhere else unless you decide so.
When you watch a source, your TV connects to it directly: your server, your playlist provider or the official channel. We do not relay any video stream.
For Plex, signing in goes through plex.tv: Plex’s privacy policy applies to that exchange.
Voice search
When you search by voice, your TV’s speech recognition (usually Google’s) is what listens. Kalmo TV only receives the recognized text, and the search runs on your TV.
Adding a source from your phone
When you choose “From my phone”, the TV shows a QR code. The page it opens, on api.kalmotv.app, encrypts what you type for that TV only, before sending it. Our server keeps this encrypted package for ten minutes at most and deletes it as soon as the TV has received it. It does not have the key to read it, and it keeps no log of these exchanges. The same goes when the TV asks for your sync password on your phone.
Sync (Kalmo Casa)
If you turn on sync, your sources, favorites, resume points and settings are copied to a “Kalmo TV” folder in your Google Drive, encrypted with your sync password. Neither Google nor we can read them. We never receive this password.
For this, the app asks Google for limited access:
drive.file: the app only sees the files it created in your Drive, nothing else;- your email address and Google account ID, to show you which account is connected on the TV.
This information stays on your TV. The use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can stop sync from the TV, remove Kalmo TV’s access to your Drive in your Google account, and delete the “Kalmo TV” folder from your Drive whenever you like.
The Kalmo Casa subscription
Payment happens entirely at Google Play: we see neither your card nor your address. To confirm a purchase, the app sends our server the proof of purchase Google Play gives it. Our server checks it with Google and answers the TV. It does not keep it.
The official channel catalog
The app downloads the public list of official channels for your country from our server. This list is the same for everyone. The TV works out your country itself, from its region (time zone, then language): our server only sees which list is requested. The channels’ streams and logos come directly from their broadcasters. As with any connection, our host (Cloudflare) processes the IP address for the duration of the request; we keep no log of these downloads.
This website
kalmotv.app sets no cookies and does not measure its audience. Its fonts are served by our own server, without calling any third-party service. If you choose a language, that choice is remembered in your browser and is not sent to us.
To answer you and protect the website, our host (OVH, in France) and Cloudflare, through which connections pass, process your IP address. The server’s technical logs (IP address, date, page requested) are used only for security and troubleshooting, and are deleted after a few weeks at most.
What we do not do
- No advertising, no audience measurement, no tracking.
- No Kalmo account: we have no user database.
- We neither sell nor share any data.
- The addresses of your sources and your logins never appear in logs or error reports.
Crash reports
If you have allowed it in your TV’s settings, Google Play may send us anonymous crash reports (Android vitals). They contain neither your sources nor your logins.
Parental control and children
Kalmo TV is not intended for children. A free parental control lets you lock channel groups and sources with a PIN. This PIN is never stored in plain text, nor sent to our servers.
Your rights
Since we hold no data about you, there is nothing to send you or delete on our side. If you write to us, we keep your message for as long as it takes to answer you. To erase everything:
- on the TV: uninstall the app, or clear its data in the TV’s settings;
- in Google Drive: delete the “Kalmo TV” folder, and remove Kalmo TV’s access in your Google account (Security, Third-party apps).
For any question, write to us at [email protected]. You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, dataprotectionauthority.be) or with the authority of the country where you live.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with its date.
